Use a specialized brass wire brush or nylon brush to clean out the injector seats inside the cylinder head. Vacuum out any dislodged carbon chunks.
: Remove the fuel pump fuse or relay and crank the engine until it stalls.
Gently wiggle the fuel rail. Sometimes the rail will pull away leaving the injectors in the head; other times, some injectors will come out with the rail. 4. Extracting the Seized Injectors
Thread the slide hammer shaft into the adapter. Ensure the tool is perfectly aligned with the angle of the injector to avoid side-loading it. vw 1.2 tsi injector removal
Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition to the "on" position without starting to allow the fuel system to pressurize. Check for any fuel leaks before starting.
The 1.2 TSI runs high fuel pressure. You must relieve the fuel system pressure to avoid fuel spraying everywhere.
The garage smelled of warm oil and winter antifreeze. Leon rested his palm on the cold strut tower and squinted at the compact engine bay: a neat, cramped mosaic of hoses, plastic covers, and labeled ignorance. The owner had said the car ran rough under light load; a misfire code pointed to cylinder three. Leon liked codes—clear little ghosts that led to a physical truth—so he set about finding the culprit: one tiny, stubborn injector. Use a specialized brass wire brush or nylon
Attach the specialized puller/slide hammer (equivalent to factory tool #T10133) to the injector body.
Locate the high-pressure steel line running from the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) to the fuel rail.
Always replace injector seals and Teflon rings after removal – they are one-time use. Gently wiggle the fuel rail
If reusing injectors, cut away the old Teflon seal at the tip using a plastic tool (do not scratch the injector groove). Slide a new Teflon seal over the tip using the installation cone tool.
(Highly recommended as the manifold must be removed) 🛑 Step 1: Safety Precautions and Fuel Depressurization
The 1.2 TSI engine's injectors are located beneath the intake manifold, necessitating its full removal.
